Through the love of music.

It’s personal details that make a wedding all the more beautiful. Mariah and André added their own personal touch to every element of their intimate wedding at Sugar Grove Vineyard. “From the floral arrangements to the customized napkin holders, every aspect was done by us,” Mariah says. This extra care and planning was the perfect way to make the day so special.

Mariah and André met through her Aunt Katie who first met André during violin lessons at Reiman Music. After Katie gave André Mariah’s phone number, the couple connected and instantly hit it off. On Mariah’s birthday, André took her hiking at Ledges State Park in Boone. Once they made it to the top of the trail, André proposed with a stunning backdrop overlooking the scenic sandstone gorge! Mariah was trying so hard not to look down the ledge and focus on the beautiful scenery, that she was completely surprised by André on one knee. What a view, right?

Finding the right gown, hair, and makeup.

Mariah’s lace gown had flawless details all around the back and sleeves. Her dress included a long train with delicate buttons down the back. Mariah’s gown came from Something Blue, in Ankeny and it was the perfect dress for her with all the gorgeous lace features. Mariah paired the dress with a lovely hairpiece that she made herself. The ensemble was absolutely elegant.

Estilo Salon did Mariah’s hair and makeup. Her hair was tied into a low bun with braids and twists on the side all meeting at her custom hairpiece. Her makeup made her blue eyes pop and flawlessly completed her look. She is a true timeless beauty.

Celebrating with family, and friends.

The two said their favorite moment was seeing each other at the aisle. For their sunny outdoor wedding, the couple said “I Do” under a gorgeous archway covered in white and green florals with white drapes. Family was a huge part of their ceremony. André’s father officiated the wedding, the couple’s nieces were the flower girls and Mariah’s grandpa was "ring security". Everyone felt loved and a part of the beautiful union.

After Mariah married the love of her life, the reception began. With the wedding being an intimate size, the two enjoyed spending time with close friends and family. Sugar Grove Vineyard is a charming barn and the couple decorated the space with different shades of blue. Mariah used her grandparents' wedding china for a special touch as well as their cake topper as one of the table decorations.

The final details got glowing reviews.

Special details at the reception included a “Mr. and Mrs. Paulson” neon light and a wedding book that guests could take polaroids and sign in. The gorgeous celebration was capped off with a special treat that brought everyone together — Scratch Cupcakes. Everyone loves a good, tasty cupcake!

Mariah and André started off their journey as a married couple with a spark. Surrounded by family and friends with sparklers, the two joyfully walked into their new life full of love.
