It was a warm, colorful fall day at Sticks Warehouse in Des Moines, Iowa. The rain that had been predicted for Emma and Tyler's entire wedding day held off and made for the most beautiful day. They loved the industrial vibe at Sticks, matched with a simple color scheme of navy, champagne, and gold.
“The day reflected us completely,” Emma told us. “Two people smitten and overwhelmed with the love and joy of friends and family, gathered in one space to celebrate with us!”
Emma was looking to mix things up with her wedding dress. She was inspired by some of the pieces she was seeing, but she couldn't find the whole dress. Instead, she worked with Modern Dress in Boone, IA, to take a similar top to her bridesmaids dresses, by Watters, and a separate skirt by
Mori Lee to make her dream flowing dress. It was a great way to mix and match to get the look she was after.
A unique piece of advice from Emma, try to designate non-wedding-talk nights. “A few nights before our wedding, my husband and I went on a date at the restaurant where we were engaged and promised ZERO wedding talk for the whole night. It was refreshing!”
